8 weeks, 8 stories, 8 beds, $8.88  -->  changing everything for abandoned children

In Ghana, West Africa, there are over 1 million orphaned little boys and girls. No name, no future, lost. You can help provide these precious children a safe, loving home.

West African Mercy Ministries (WAMM), a nonprofit, faith based organization, operates a children's home called House of Mercy (HOMe) in Accra, the capital city of Ghana. HOMe has 8 beds and takes in children who are orphaned and alone, many of whom have special needs.

Children come to HOMe with nothing.  Their lives often turned upside down as a result of abuse, abandonment, and neglect. Frequently these children are already social outcasts because of their special needs.  Many of the children are ill or dying.

They are among the neediest in the world

Sadly, so many more children in Ghana are waiting to be rescued. That's where you come in. You can provide a HOMe and a future for an orphaned child. Would you consider partnering with WAMM to give these children a home of their own (and so much more!)?

Your recurring, tax-deductible donation of just $8.88 can provide precious orphans in Ghana, West Africa, with a new life.  Your support will enable WAMM to provide a child with a HOMe, a family environment, medical care, food, clothes, love, advocacy, a name, and an identity.

Over the next 8 weeks, we will be introducing you to 8 treasured children whose lives were completely changed by the work of WAMM. As you read their stories you will see the life-changing effect that your support will have in the lives of children like them.

Frequently asked questions

What are the goals for the campaign?

- There are many, but our top two are: 1) connecting more people to WAMM and House of Mercy and 2) finding 200 people to give $8.88 per month.  House of Mercy is very underfunded currently and needs your support.

Why do you need 200 people?:

- That is the amount that fully funds House of Mercy, about $20,000-$25,000 per year depending on levels of one-time medical care expenses for the children.

What will happen when WAMM finds 200 donors?

-Once we have 200 donors WAMM will have a fully funded Children's Home in Ghana!

How much of my donation will go to the kids?

-Great question!  100%!!  We already have other donors that help fund the overhead staff expenses of this ministry.  Your donation goes entirely toward taking care of the kids, providing them with food, clothes, shelter, and personal care.

Why can't you accept credit card?

-We are working on it and hope to get you an option for that shortly.  By using your checking account there is  no incremental expense to WAMM, so 100% of your donation can go to HOMe.  With credit cards there are some pretty heavy fees, we are just trying to get the most of the donations we can directly to these children!

Will I receive updates about HOMe?

-Yes! We will send updates about HOMe and the precious children living there via email. This will be sent to the email address you provide us with when you sign up to give.
